We believe that all the best ways to solve problems begin with listening and learning. We’re often physically and mentally removed from our natural environment and even the infrastructure that makes our modern lives possible. ISeeChange aims to offer communities a way to build and celebrate relationships with nature, our cities, the people who study and manage them, and even each other. Sharing and dialogue are at the heart of these relationships; we’re proud to help build them.
Some changes are small while others are planetary, but every day we are experiencing rapid shifts in our weather and climate that affect almost every aspect of our daily lives. ISeeChange was built because people all over the world--in rural areas and dense urban centers alike--are already seeing their daily lives affected by climate change. And as a result, they’re changing too.
At ISeeChange, we collaborate with climatologists, social scientists, urban planners, engineers, and health professionals to better understand regional and global natural and human changes. But we need your local stories and measurements to guide us!
Today, it’s almost impossible to separate our natural, built, and social environments. Weather and climate affect the type of infrastructure we build and how we live, work and play in our communities. While our social environment not only determines how those impacts are experienced, it also determines which voices are heard when it comes to solving problems.
The changes we are facing can seem huge or even insurmountable, but every day, we are learning more about how to adapt to these changes and building the case to push for more actions to reduce emissions. The ISeeChange community is a great place to share the small and the big ways that you, your community, or other communities are mitigating or adapting to climate change.
